About the creator

↟ Hi! My name is Anna Kronik. I am an artist, illustrator, author of books and calendars, magical storyteller.

I live in Russia near Moscow, near my house there is a Forest and a River Valley. Having escaped from the big city, I found inspiration in nature and ancient legends.

I draw my illustrations in a complex oil graphics technique. I use an etching needle and oil paints, which help me fill my work with natural texture, creating living fairy-tale worlds.

Ideas and images are born in my Inner Forest - a place where peace and endless love reign. I draw to share my stories. I want everyone who watches them to feel beauty and light even in the darkest times.

↟ Привет! Меня зовут Анна Кроник. Я художница, иллюстраторка, создательница книг и календарей, рассказчица волшебных историй.

Я живу в пригороде Москвы недалеко от Леса и Долины Реки. Убежав из шумного города, я нашла вдохновение в природе и древних легендах.

Я рисую свои иллюстрации в масляной графике — это сложная техника, в которой я использую офортную иглу и масляные краски. С их помощью я наполняю свои работы природной текстурой, создавая живые сказочные миры.

Идеи и образы рождаются в моём Внутреннем Лесу — месте, где царит спокойствие и бесконечная любовь. Я рисую, чтобы поделиться своими историями, и чтобы каждый, кто смотрит их, чувствовал красоту и свет даже в самые тёмные времена.

Sacred magic ☽ Сакральная магия

Some days ago I got the Spell card from the Wiccan Shadows Oracle. It answered a question about my work. I realized that this card (meaning, symbolism, illustration) is the definition of drawing for me. I decided to explore this and share with you how my paintings are embodied in this reality, and why this is sacred magic for me.

I have a lot of types of work, not all of them are creative (for example, packing and sending orders). I always clearly separate work, even if it is drawing, and that very secret, mystical act of birth of new worlds. It becomes the meaning of life for me. Maybe someone might consider it inspiration, but for me this is exactly the state of mind. Like a kind of trance. Like the call of University. And everything around doesn’t matter.
