A free smarter Cruise Control for trucks ETS2/ATS

Hello everyone! Hello dear SimShaker Wheels users!
With the fresh program update to version 2.52, among other improvements, comes an interesting free to use feature for Truck Simulator ETS2/ATS: Adjustive Cruise Control. Let me state right away: this is not a core feature, but rather a side effect of exploring the capabilities of the SCS Input API. I was curious about what could be done with this tool, and this little spin-off is the result.
In short, this option allows the in-game cruise control to automatically adjust the set speed to match the current road limit. You simply activate the regular cruise control, even at 30 km/h (or 20 mph), and the program will promptly increase or decrease the speed based on Trip Advisor data.
Everything works within the game's standard logic: cruise control deactivates when braking and occasionally requires re-engagement. An optional handy link with the beacon light (default key 'O') has been added: if you turn the beacon on, the auto-adjustment pauses, and you control the speed manually. Turn the beacon off, and the automation resumes. This works even if the truck isn't physically equipped with such a beacon.
The feature pairs well with in-game aids like automatic engine brake and retarder. When entering an area with a lower speed limit, they will promptly help to smoothly and automatically reduce speed.
You can configure Adjustive Cruise Control on the second tab of SimShaker Wheels (Games Specific Settings,  Truck Simulators ETS2/ATS group-box). For correct operation, it is important to set the same units of length and cruise control step in the program as in the game. This is especially useful when traveling between countries with different measurement systems, as the program will be able to correctly process "non-round" speed limits. You do not need to change or assign anything in the game's own settings; you only need to keep them the same in SimShaker Wheels and in the game. It's worth noting that the accuracy of the cruise control's operation depends on its in-game settings (GAMEPLAY -> ASSISTANS -> Tolerance, Grid Step).
I hope you will appreciate the convenience of driving with this function. In the end, it's not an autopilot of course, but rather a smart, adaptive helper that takes over some of the routine operations. Personally, it has added comfort to my hauls. Give it a try if you're interested. You might like this approach as well.
Good luck on the roads in the New Year!
