I'm Alexandra Poletaeva, also known as Amy Fighter35, a self-taught 2D digital author, and I specialize in creating my own worlds. 
I am the creator of my own projects: Bird of Prey series, which includes Not Your Soviet Jet (Beloved Amy) and Weapon of Choice, and The Federation of Nordland (The Darkest Hour). I'm a huge fan of the F-35B Lightning II :)
I do not use AI in my creative process – not for ideation, not for visual creation. My only tools: my own mind, Adobe Photoshop & Wacom (sometimes I also paint/draw traditionally).

  • #Bird_of_Prey – my own project dedicated to my passion for the F-35B Lightning II, a personal story told through metaphor. It includes the following sections: Not Your Soviet Jet (Beloved Amy) and Weapon of Choice.
  • #NotYourSovietJet, #BelovedAmy – tells the tale of an F-35B fighter jet named Amy, dedicated to my struggle for my identity, freedom, and recognition. In this story, the F-35B, a Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) aircraft, is opposed with the Soviet VTOL aircraft "Yak", which became a waste product of the Soviet military-industrial complex. This narrative reveals Amy as one of the most valuable and unique aircraft in aviation history.
  • #WeaponOfChoice – the chronicle of fictional Major Jeremy "IRAE" Patton, Amy's pilot, the story of his life and missions, a tale of grit, strategy, and the hand that guides the weapon.
Bird of Prey also includes other aviation-themed art, such as portraits of real pilots like Bill Gigliotti and some others.
  • #The_Federation_of_Nordland – the story of the meritocratic chemical country named The Federation of Nordland. This is a large-scale narrative that explores themes of global politics and economics. Its heroes are chemical elements and their compounds – herr Eisen, herr Oktan, herrin Erdöl (Oil), herr Uranium, herr Lithium, herr Blei (Lead), and many others – who personify sectors of politics, economics, and industry. Their interactions are based on the logic of chemistry and alchemy, power and statecraft. The Darkest Hour is the working title of my book about Nordland.
Within the Federation of Nordland, you can find demo versions of the characters marked as "demo versions" and current versions of characters marked as The Federation of Nordland: Renaissance.

Unexpectedly, a merch sale turned into a full interview! Huge thank to Lera Boggart for this interview and for her incredible support throughout, it was wonderful! I’m sure this is just the beginning, and you have many more amazing guests and great interviews ahead!
P. S. During the conversation, I kind of mixed up vertical and short takeoff here and there - just couldn’t keep up with my own thoughts. We fixed it in the subtitles, don’t worry! But honestly, if the F-35B is going to mess up somewhere, it’s probably in the short takeoff and vertical landing department. Still love it, though, right?
P.P.S. More went into this interview than it might seem, so a little bonus for those who want to dig deeper. On the thumbnail behind me a burnt Yak-141. The title is a wordplay between "career" and "carrier deck". "Approaches" in aviation, it's landing approaches; in life, it's a way of acting; in my story, it's five meanings, five steps I took to return to myself.

📢 UPDATES!

My life circumstances have changed, prompting me to expand and rethink the concept of The Federation of Nordland. The artworks published earlier retain their value as the Nordland demo version. I have compiled them into a catalog covering my work from 2014 to 2021.
