Technics SY-1010 mod
Here's a rough description of the work I did with the Technics SY-1010. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to the schematic for this synth, so I just did a little reverse engineering as I went along. When working with this synth, keep in mind that it has a UA726 onboard. I hope you all understand what that means, so be careful. This synth has several interesting features, including an unusual (slightly) OTA filter solution and an additional VCA for tremolo. I installed my MIDI CV converter, simply creating a gap at the keyboard CV input point.
The design of the gate and glide assembly is shown in the following picture. I used a TL082 as a glide buffer. The gate is optically isolated using a PC817.
The next thing I did was correct the LFO waveform. The synth creators intended it to be a sine wave formed from a triangle by diode approximation. However, in both synths of this model, the waveform was completely different, probably due to the wide range of diode parameters. I created a new shaper using a FET transistor.
Next: I added an overdrive mode. For this, I connected a dual 50kB linear potentiometer.
next : I added a waveform mixer:
next: I added a section of the PVM and sub oscillator, this circuit is close to the circuit of the Roland SH101
Ask if anything is unclear. Good luck.
