Heriot-Watt University
Students have access to a range of NHS medical and dental facilities. All students have access to counselling through the student health team. Students can readily access groups, internet resources, mental health treatment, and mentoring. Support is also available for adjusting to university life, finances, housing, and safety, and online support is always available through the Big White Wall.
Over 60 student organisations can be found in the Herriot Watt Student Union, including a mediaeval society, a renowned brewing organisation, and religious organisations. In Edinburgh, there are quiz nights, club nights with live music, a pub, and a café. There are events at the Scottish Borders Campus at the Thread.
The Heriot-Watt University's housing office assigns students to specific on-campus locations and, if necessary, helps them obtain off-campus housing. Over 1,600 spaces, including shared rooms and bathrooms with showers, are available on the Edinburgh Campus. There are 200 self-catered rooms and apartments on the Scottish Borders Campus, and Heriot-Watt University also rents off-campus and city centre apartments.
