The cover art for Åquarium in Dub – River Dub was brought to life with the help of metaphysical artist Asya Metta. For over a decade, Asya has been creating album covers by hand, turning each one into a work of art.
From the start, we knew the River Dub artwork had to echo the same groovy spirit of the ’60s as the music itself. The search for the right imagery led us straight to Saraswati — the goddess of wisdom and creativity — whose presence felt like the perfect match.
The color palette was chosen with care: shades that resonate with the flags of India, Ethiopia, and even the old Russian tricolor, the one with a sky-blue stripe instead of the dark, imposed midnight blue.
And here’s the most magical twist: shortly after completing her work, Asya left the Urals and moved to the Volga, settling in Samara with us.
Alongside a portrait of Asya herself, we’re also sharing the very first sketches for River Dub.
