Introducing PUD chan
Just a little end-of-month ramble.
Honestly, I gave up on the idea of doing this for money a long time ago. I've been in the red for about two years now. I make around $45 a month, and my Grok subscription alone is $30. That doesn't even include the insane amount of time I spend actually working on this stuff :3
At this point, I'm mostly doing it because I still like the idea that more people might notice and enjoy my work.
That said, I was seriously planning to quit after this month. NAI quality has gotten so good now that the era where I wondered, “Why aren't more people making proper NSFW AI art?” is basically over. A lot of people can make great stuff now, and I honestly felt like maybe someone like me wasn't really needed anymore.
But then ANiMA came out, and I made the very sane and responsible decision to buy an RTX 5080. This month, I worked purely with ANiMA, and to my surprise, the results got way more likes and bookmarks than before. That made me really happy. ANiMA has better detail and overall image quality than what I was using before, so I want to see how far I can push this for the rest of the year.
If I find something special there, I'll probably keep going.
Of course, this could still end suddenly at any time. But compared to the start of this year, I think the chance of me quitting right away is lower now.
That being said, working with ANiMA is still insanely difficult. It's heavy, slower than before, and harder to handle. Unlike NAI, the dataset still feels limited, and since it's an early model, it doesn't always behave the way I expect. My favorite tool, ControlNet, doesn't exist for it yet, and the LoRA ecosystem is only just beginning.
So yeah, it feels like I have to start over from zero again. But for some reason, seeing new ANiMA LoRAs uploaded to Civitai every day makes me weirdly happy.
Because of all that, I've decided to take about a week off.
What I need now is stamina, and I need to recover some of the creative energy that's almost completely drained.
Think about it. I've been doing this since the very early days of ChatGPT and AI image generation. Almost four years of making NSFW works. Most of my earliest works are gone now, but still, four years is a long time.
Do you know what four years of making NSFW art does to a person's brain? It's basically porn brainrot at that point.
And there were almost no real days off. Every character in my Pixiv gallery is different. Every concept is different. Every style is different. I upload every four days, but that means I spend all four days thinking about it and working on it. These things don't just magically appear in a single day.
On average, I generate around 3,000 to 4,000 images per set, including inpainting, and then finish around 30 to 40 images that I actually like. The AI may randomize the composition, but the prompting, checking, fixing, rejecting, and choosing are all done by a human.
On top of that, I have to update the Discord archive, keep learning new AI tools, and make mini-content too.
Now that I think about it, this is actually insane. I have no idea how I kept doing it this long. Sometimes I honestly find it strange myself.
Maybe it was because of the few people who supported this stupid project, and the people who still haven't unfollowed me. That probably gave me more hope than I realized.
My image quality may still be below NAI in some areas, but whatever. I started this because I wanted to make things other people weren't making.
I really hate censorship and creative restrictions. My goal has always been to make the kind of thing people only imagined in their heads. The kind of thing other cowards wouldn't make.
Of course, I'm still limited by Pixiv's rules. But Patreon and Gumroad aren't constantly nitpicking my work over content limits, and honestly, I feel freer now than ever. Not becoming someone who only creates around Patreon-safe limits still feels like one of the best decisions I made.
I still need your ideas, and there are still a lot of technical things I need to learn. But with ANiMA, I feel like things now depend more on my instincts and improvisation than before.
If ControlNet for ANiMA comes out, I really want to try making things people haven't even thought of yet.
So yeah, I think taking a break, touching some new things, and finding better ideas will be important.
But honestly?
I still want to keep doing stupid, crazy things.
I want to see where this game ends.
Let's do our best again next month.

OLD LETTERS 🎈
TL;DR: Got NSFW-banned on Patreon and every other platform, so I moved to Boosty where the rules are way looser. I will never compromise!
Hi! I'm pudchan.
A school uniform girl with white hair is my original character!
I've been creating nsfw fan art with AI on Pixiv for over a year. Yes, I could generate hundreds of the same images like everyone else (that's what I'm doing with Mini content), but what I'm trying to do is something a little different. The idea is to create more interesting images.
This is where I want to talk about why I started boosty.
Why I Started This Journey:
I can't draw at all, so I decided to use artificial intelligence. The amazing quality of AI and its vast potential are incredible! While many people use AI to create 'cool pictures,' I was frustrated by the fact that they don't use it to create explicit NSFW content. A few impressive pages are not enough. If you've created a great art style and great compositions, why not connect it to more erotic and sexual content? This is why people look at Pixiv R18! I felt a bit of dissatisfaction with that, and that’s why I started this work.
I thought it would be great to use AI to generate all the waifu content people dream of. My ultimate goal is to highlight characters who receive little attention or explore hardcore concepts (it's still in its early stages, and of course, popular ones are also a big goal).
When I started, I felt that using AI is as complex as creating hand-drawn pictures. Since it’s AI, you can get good results with simple prompts, but the difficulty increases significantly when trying to create complex poses and expressions. Especially, using trained data models excessively can degrade the quality in creating NSFW content, and AI often fails to understand most body compositions. Six fingers are all too common.
I try to spend time fixing most of these issues. I remodel incorrect bodies, correct images through numerous additional tasks like Photoshop and ControlNet, and create a finished product.
This is really tedious work, taking dozens of hours for a single piece. It takes an enormous amount of time to generate, and even then, AI fails to produce most results correctly and is too foolish to accept the corrections I make. I have honed this skill for over a year and worked hard to improve the overall quality.
Although I may still be foolish in fully understanding AI and might only be scratching the surface in using it correctly, I have made significant progress over the past year thanks to your support and by building my own know-how.
(Edit:This message was originally written over a year ago, before the full rise of NAI 3.0.
Now that there are so many talented NSFW AI artists out there, my identity has started to blur among them.
I'm truly trying my best to carve out my own place in the midst of it all... )

The Need for Support:
For nearly the past two years, I've been through Patreon, PixivFanbox, and Gumroad. I had the rare experience of being kicked out of all of them. Some banned AI, some banned NSFW, and some kicked me out without even telling me what was wrong with my work, taking all the money I hadn't withdrawn.
The sad truth is - that most platforms, especially in the case of AI, are not friendly to NSFW art. Public perception is also an issue.
All these factors have discouraged and exhausted me. Contrary to the popular belief that making money with NSFW AI art is very unethical, there are hardly any spaces for them. In fact, most AI artists have left Pixiv during this process.
I've been doing this for almost two years, almost simultaneously with NAI's contribution to the AI boom in late 2022, but there seem to be very few AI artists who have been creating AI works as long as I have. In fact, I would have originally been one of them. But the difference is—I haven’t given up yet.
Honestly, I have made almost no profit in the past year and a half. Except for a brief period when I had over 50 subscribers on Patreon (I got banned when I reached 100), I mostly earned less than $60 a month. In most cases, when considering the subscription fees for some AI tools and electricity costs, the expenses are higher. Given that I've spent more than 10 hours a day working on AI art over the past year, you know, this amount is ridiculous even as a hobby. If it weren't for a few supporters who willingly bought me coffee and one patron who consistently supported me with $30-60 a month, I would never have been able to sustain this work.
Despite this, the reason I keep doing this work is—because it's fun. Creating something with AI, making people happy, and creating rewarding work that someone wants is enjoyable. To me, AI is sincere and a tool that realizes dreams.
Recently, on July 4th, I was banned from Gumroad, and I really felt like I had to give up. I thought it was time to quit. Imagine someone destroying a castle every time you rebuild it. But should this really be the end? I realized that I have valuable fans and 60,000 followers on this journey. I started using Pixiv with AI from the beginning—this was a special experience that couldn't be found anywhere else.
If someone continues to like my work, I might be able to start over from scratch, just like I did elsewhere. I anticipate similarly tough times ahead, but it would be truly delightful if someone supported my dream.
Honestly, I'm sharing this because I'm in a tough spot right now, and I hope to bounce back with the support of many, just like I did on Patreon. My dream is to make money through NSFW art, invest in an RTX 5090, and produce higher quality, high-resolution works faster than ever. This will help me better cater to what people want.
Stay tuned to see how far I can go with your help.
