This is a short process + explanation of an illustration with a cozy girl.

This art is a bit sketchy, but I wanted to show my steps – maybe they'll help someone~

●Brushes

I don't have a permanent brush set, but I always use a hard and soft brush duo.

I switch between them as I work, to create a softer outline/coloring in some areas and a harder one in others

●Sketch/Line

In recent years, I've abandoned the idea of ​​separating the sketch and the outline into separate stages~

I realized that this approach loses the dynamic of the line (for me).

So now I prefer to do a thin sketch and then refine it with an eraser

●Adding color

First, I fill the outline with a general color (gray), and then add a separate color for each element.
Then I lock the layers so I can draw directly "inside."

This helps me see the big picture at a glance

But, of course, this is just one way to work with layers 

●Painting

When painting, I also use a combination of soft and hard brushes.

These are usually the same brushes I use for sketching and lining.

For creating gradients and blush, I use a standard airbrush~

●Details

So, I add details in a separate layer over the outline.
Usually these are accessories (hairpins/earrings/hardware, etc.).

I use a standard hard brush and an outline.

You can vary its thickness and color!

I rarely add shadows to these elements; I like the way they look a bit like a "sticker" over the art ★

●The next stage

Next, I create a layer on top of the existing ones.

There, I rework some elements, draw in details, clean up the outline, add strands of hair, seams, etc.

●Almost the end! Correction

I usually create a layer in "soft light" mode.

I use an airbrush and add shades.
For example, light beige on the face area~

The final stage is color correction (in Photoshop), adding noise, and background design
