The First Issue is Out!

We first envisioned a glossy club magazine back in 2020, planning to launch it in time for the Minsk European Shogi Championship. Many initiatives of the Ginkammuri club—video interviews, thematic podcasts, historical game research—began during that time and were considered as potential materials for this hypothetical publication. We even started preparing a pilot issue for release in August 2021, but…
Despite having a strong foundation for an illustrated magazine—an extensive archive of exclusive photographs and a certain level of expertise in classic board games—the task proved too overwhelming for our small team, and we had to put the project on hold.
In 2024, we revived the idea and, with tremendous effort, often at the expense of other club activities, brought it to life in exactly the format and quality we had envisioned. Naturally, we had doubts about the demand for such a publication, but to our delight, the limited trial edition of the first issue sold out completely among club members. This gives us hope that our endeavor will resonate with readers.
The first issue can be flipped through online and downloaded for free here. Future editions will be available by subscription (see the subscription levels descriptions for details). Anyone who subscribes to the print version before the release of the February issue will receive the January edition as a gift.
