About

Hi, I'm Mironack and I'm an animator.
Various moments and successes of animation will be posted here. In the context of how ready is this or that animation or what I use to make this or that moment.

Enable Volumetrics

Also of interest, perhaps...the use of...volumetric, or diffusing? Light.
Simply placing a light source just...trivially illuminates the area. Whereas volumetric gives a visible direction to the light. Which in some cases can be played up as rays of sunlight.
In my animations so far rarely used, but the most trivial example from my current animations.

A little more about light, from the last animation

In scp animations, the main location was this corridor.

Maybe someone could use it and look for this map, but...it's just a model. Which is lit with 16 light sources, to get good (Exactly what is good, not overly bright) light.
Basically, the point is that you shouldn't try to put all the lighting ‘inside’ the corridor. You either don't have enough space or the light will be bright anyway. And for lighting the whole corridor, several light sources may interfere with each other. Therefore, it is not the worst idea, in my opinion, to place some of the lights outside the model. In this way, the light will shrink in brightness, becoming...rather...moderately soft, without taking up too much space.

A couple of details in my scenes from sfm

Well, from my current work I can pick out a couple details for what call “scene building”. First, what the final version of the background looks like in general.
The main thing I realized while building the scenes myself, rather than using just maps, is that you can't do everything the way it looks good logically.
That is, there is a table and there should be a plate on it for a good shot. However, in relation to the characters, if you lay the plate close to the table, it will be too small, so it is better to put it above the table. In my background, half of the obyekto does not weigh close to the wall, and is located as it would look good in the frame
Also, if you need to build some...interesting lighting for a scene, you may run up against the limit of the cfm engine. Namely, only 8 light sources can create a shadow. Therefore, I usually use 3-4 lights to create the main lighting and a couple more for additional lighting.
