Enable Volumetrics
Also of interest, perhaps...the use of...volumetric, or diffusing? Light.
Simply placing a light source just...trivially illuminates the area. Whereas volumetric gives a visible direction to the light. Which in some cases can be played up as rays of sunlight.
In my animations so far rarely used, but the most trivial example from my current animations.
Of course, it is not the best idea to use it everywhere, as not everywhere these rays are appropriate, because in some cases they can be too...bright, making the picture too...one-toned. In a simpler way, the character that should be emphasised become one ‘layer’ with the background.
