About Me
Hi! I am a solo indie game developer.
For a long time, game dev was just a hobby. I was always fascinated by it but couldn't quite take it seriously. I spent years messing around in Blender, Unreal Engine, and Unity, mostly just to test my limits and see if I could model a cool asset or code a basic mechanic. It was a playground, nothing more.
Then, life threw a beautiful curveball—my son was born 😅
Becoming a father completely changed my perspective. It made me realize that life is too short to ignore your true passions. I decided to stop hesitating and finally build the game I’ve always dreamed of, with the ultimate goal of turning game development into my full-time career.
Right now, my biggest challenge is a severe lack of time. Between my day job, household chores, and taking care of my baby, I only have about 1 to 3 hours a day to work on my project. Because of this, progress might seem slow, and patches won't drop every single day. I work at my own pace and make sure to take small breaks so I don't burn out.
To be honest, it's not strictly about the money. It's about freedom. I want to build a sustainable independent career so I can actually watch my son grow up, rather than being buried in corporate work for the rest of my life. Your support here helps me buy back my time and brings me one step closer to that dream.

About the Project: Darkness from the Depths

Darkness from the Depths is a first-person, sci-fi psychological horror game with a dark, low-poly aesthetic, deeply inspired by the atmosphere of Dredge.
The game tells the story of a lone robot searching for the meaning of its existence in a drowned, post-apocalyptic world. Following a mysterious cataclysm within the Solar System, humanity has faced total extinction. Only the underwater inhabitants of Earth managed to endure—some simply adapted to survive, while others mutated for reasons unknown.
Core Gameplay Elements:
Survival & Resource Management: Dredge the sea for scrap metal, manage your grid inventory, and fish to survive.
Crafting & Upgrades: Refine your haul into metal bars to upgrade your boat through a strict system of modular sockets (Hull, Engine, Battery, and Fuel Processors).
Biofuel Cycle: Catch fish and process them right on your boat to convert them into biofuel.
The Contrast of Time: Daytime grants you the freedom to explore, scavenge, and prepare. Nighttime pushes you to the absolute brink, forcing you to survive the horrors emerging from the deep.
I wanted to clearly explain how I plan to share the game builds with you. I believe in open development, so anyone can download and test the game for free.
Here is how the system works:
Free Access:
The previous stable version of the game will always be open to the public. You can download it, test the boat, fiddle with the grid inventory, and see how the game evolves without paying a dime.
Paid Subscribers:
If you support me with a paid tier, you will get early access to the absolute latest version. All newly coded mechanics, modular sockets, crafting upgrades, and fresh features will appear here first, long before the public release. The very first test build is coming soon. Thank you for being here, and welcome to the depths!

### ⚓ Play the Early Tech Prototype (v0.0.1)

This is a **RAW EARLY PROTOTYPE**, not a polished gameplay demo. It is a technical showcase of the core mechanics I’ve built so far.

*   **Download Link:** https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GwLWbLdWY8XR13hIcy3joxfhRFcUgFV4/view?usp=drive_link
*   **Current Progress:** Boat Mechanics (~50% ready), Functional Grid Inventory (~99% ready).

**What you can do in this build:**
*   Test the custom boat physics (acceleration, inertia, tilting, and braking).
*   Interact with the helm and basic dashboard elements.
*   Test the fully functional Tarkov/RE4-style grid inventory (move, rotate, and organize scattered test items).

*Note: There are currently no sounds, enemies, or gameplay loops. Your feedback on how the boat handles and how the inventory feels is highly appreciated!*
