Skyrim beards are sh*t
The vanilla beard models aren't different textures; they are different meshes using the same texture per "beard type" set, so the beard 'fade' on different cuts is this smooth gradient you can see as beard slowly stops existing somewhere on the character's face.
It does not work well, but at the same time I believe I did an adequate job at making the hair slightly better than vanilla where it is visible - with a few future tweaks of course.
Another issue is that sometimes beard just splits in the middle like you see on the screenshot, under the character's nose. That is not how the texture looks like, and it doesn't look like it on ~30% of presets I've seen, but the higher quality textures make this issue more obvious that it would have been otherwise.
I have 2 more beard textures to go, one of which is the same as this one, but differently colored - I presume it is used for the elderly characters and not for the player, perhaps.
This whole "beard discovery" has been quite disappointing, but of course I'll finish the textures as most of you voted I do.
There could be an extreme solution to that issue in the form of custom textures per beard mesh, but that would make everything *very* incompatible with not only other beard mods, but also other head replacers (like KouLeifoh's HP Head, Dizona Body HP head, HP Heads you could find back in the day on Anvilbay, etc). Not to mention the dramatically increased GPU load.
