Climbing at the end of the season
Hello friends! In this guide, I will try to cover the important things for your end-of-season climb and just play tips for all time!
1. Let's start from the very beginning - meta:
I think it's possible to play almost all dragons as main or secondary carries:
Daeja - always like the main carry, items depend on the mirage buff. All variations of mirages are playable.
Shi Oh Yu - can be both a main carry and a secondary carry with Anivia.
Syfen is always a secondary carry, specific items are NOT important. Just have 3 good items for him and a good backline with him.
Idas is a good tank for a standard Corki board and an alliance/dragon horde. It almost always changes to Shivana + Neeko if possible, except if the shimmer item is a gem, sometimes this is an additional augmentation in specific matchups.
Aoshin is the best dragon for winning the game. Often stronger without shojin than with it. Your composition almost always looks the same: it's 3 mages and legendary units.
Asol is not stronger than Aoshin almost never, but if you have him 2* and good 3 items, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Shyvana is ALWAYS a secondary carry, if you play her as a main and the only carry you will never succeed. Mana items are very important for the first cast, and position Shyvana in the corners rather than in the middle.
And now back to the meta, since we have already learned that all dragons are playable and can win, the meta will look like this (not in order):
Carry Nomsy
Dragons
Of the 3 cost units only Swain, Olaf/Diana, Volibear and Varus are playable as main/solo carries.
Of the 2/1 cost units, only Sett is my favorite in the current patch. And we accordingly ignore all 4 non-dragon carries, all of them will lose to dragon boards.
2. Game plan
This is the most important point that you must learn to understand. In almost every game after Krugs, you need to know when you need to power up and what compositions you will have on plan A) and plan B)
I just ask myself: "So what can we play out of this situation that will bring us the maximum result?"
3. Initial game
Pay attention to which opener you have the best games from. For example: brawlers/cavaliers+guilds/guardians+jades. Play with what you can play and you are sure what comps you will use. Don't listen to people who tell you to only play specific openers, listen to yourself and look at your results.
4. Choice of augmentations
I always try NOT to reroll the first augment, there is almost always a choice (it can be bad), but rerolling later in the game is much more important and has more impact in my opinion. Make it a rule that if you have an economy augmentation, the next 2 will be combat augmentations, always have a balance - this is important
5. Economy and when should I roll???
I'm the type of player who holds pairs instead of making interval golds. Ask yourself: "Will I use this unit at the next level, or can I have a better chance of finding something better?". If the answer is "yes, I will" - leave it, and you do not need to roll at the next level (if we are talking about early levels). If the answer is "I can easily find something stronger or I PLAN to roll" - then feel free to sell this unit or your pairs and then you MUST get stronger on the next level, because this was an excuse to sell other units. Rolling 3-5 in the current meta is a good decision, dragons are quite strong and will stabilize your board at 1*.
6. Conclusion
Have a game plan, and ask yourself what you can do / how you should play. Choose the pace of the game that is comfortable for you and have the desire to achieve your rank goal (this is very important)
I can say and add a lot more, but already there is a lot of text. You can always ask my advice on the discord or if you are interested in coaching you can find out more about it again on the discord
